Inflation hits record Low (Month-to-Month)

Zimbabwe’s month-on-month inflation rate fell sharply to 2.23% in January 2020, its lowest level since February last year, from 16.55% in December 2019, as prices slowed mostly for food & non-alcoholic beverages (2.55% vs 15.75% in December 2019).

Meantime, non-food inflation declined to 1.99% from 17.14% in the previous month.

The Zimbabwe National Statistical Agency (Zimstat) is set to resume the publication of year-on-year inflation figures amid warnings that inflation will continue to gallop as long as the local currency remains unstable.
