Seismic tests have suggested that São Tomé and Principe, two tropical Islands off the coast of West Africa with a population of 160,000, might be sitting on billions of barrels of oil. For that reason the country is at moment on the international news and several visitors from countries like US, UK, Germany or Japan are arriving every week with great expectation for the great business. This country has also an excellent quality in terms of natural resources like rain forest, endemic species , white sand beaches and sunny weather proper for the development of the tourism industry. However due to the lack of tourism infrastructure and also the lack of the country promotion abroad few success has been achieved for the mass tourism as it is happening at the Caribbean Islands. This is one of the reasons why some people still considers these Islands as the Paradise at the equator. With the “Africa’s oil dreams” shading over it , this country should and has the due right to be prepared for the new future on which it can rely on.
