While the whole Department of Home Affairs is now offline due to failed maintenance and updates of their IT System, Minister of No Affairs, Aaron Motsoaledi, continues to cut options for immigrating to South Africa.
With the reduction of critical skills, the abolishment of ZSP and Student PRs based on Critical Skills as well as the abolished possibility to use return-earning assets for retired person visas the options to immigrate become fewer and fewer. Further, there is no in-time processing of any waivers and the Department of Labour now takes up to a year to issue letters for the General Work Visa.
We can only assume that soon the Financially Independent Permanent Residence Permit will also fall victim to the Minister’s obsession to keep any foreigner, skilled or not, out of the country. We, therefore, can only advise that if you have any assets like properties, cars or bank accounts to contact us in order to assess the possibility to apply for Permanent Residence directly. If you are currently in the possession of a temporary visa, let us review the options for Permanent Residence as only once you have obtained PR you are safe from the Minister’s erratic amendments of the Immigration Law.
