Zambia’s headline consumer inflation quickened to 7% year-on-year in November from 6.9% in October, driven mainly by increases in the price of food and alcoholic beverages, the Central Statistical Office said yesterday. On a month-on-month basis, prices increased by 0.3% in November after being flat in October.
The southern African country’s trade surplus fell to 43 million Zambian kwacha in October from 53 million kwacha in September, the statistics agency added.
