Artist Visa
General
Due to the nature of a limited stay for the performance engagement only and the remuneration being paid abroad, Artists receive a preferential treatment when it comes to temporary residence visa.
Beside the general Visitor Visa with the Permission to Work under s11(2), long-term visitor visa for Artists, Academics such as Lecturers and Researchers as well as Journalists are issued for a time period of between one and three years and need to be applied for at the South African Embassy, Consulate or High Commission in the Artist’s home country at least four weeks prior to their departure.
Requirements
Beside the general documents such as police clearances, medical reports and flight tickets, the applicant for this visa needs to proof his experience, past work or portfolio as well as the source of funding in order to support him- or herself during the period of the Visa applied for.
